Namsam started its humbled beginnings back in 1999. Whilest the more common form of Otah are the ones served in coconut leaves, we started creating ours with our secret recipe wrapped with banana leaf. Peranakans are widely accepted to be the originator of this version and we believe nothing beats a freshly grilled otah.

Before long, customers grown to love our Original Mackerel Otah and that was when we opened our shop in Joo Chiat Road selling otah. Shortly after, we were awarded Singapore’s No. 1 Banana Leaf Otah and has continued the quality and traditions  ever since.

As our otah became famous, we started supplying our otahs and nasi lemak to various hawker stalls and restaurants. We’ve also supplied to well-known companies like Délifrance, Changi Airport, Cheers and many more.

Today, along our physical store at 263 Joo Chiat Road, we continue to supply our customers with our famed otah through our catering company Spicevillage
